Ben's Weather Summary - Updated: Sunday, Aug 24 @ 12:08pm
Thus fair rainfall amounts have been less than impressive with most locations picking up under a tenth of an inch, with a few pockets to our west around 1/3rd of an inch. Moisture continues to stream northward through the area with merginal instability in place today. Though we should still see isolated-scattered convection this afternoon with showers and thunderstorms possible. Highs will top out around 80 degrees with southwest winds 5-15 mph, gusty near any storms. Partly cloudy skies tonight with light winds and lows in the 50s. A trough will appraoch the west coast tomorrow drawing deeper moisture and instability north into the region. I think showers and thunderstorms will become more widespread through about Wednesday, then decrease Thursday as a drier southwest flow kicks monsoon moisture east of us. Any storms that develop may produce heavy rainfall, gusty winds, frequent lightning, and small hail. Always head indoors when a thunderstorm approaches. Cooler through next week with highs in the 70s as overnight lows remain in the 50s.At this time, it looks like fairly seasonal summer weather is forecast through Labor Day weekend with near-normal temperatures and dry conditions out there.
